CV joints

The constant-velocity joints let your driven wheels turn while the suspension moves. We supply and fit CV joints and boots for all makes.

Signs it's worn: a rhythmic clicking or knocking when you turn, especially on full lock; grease flung around the inside of the wheel from a torn rubber boot.

Suspension ball joints

Ball joints connect the control arms to the steering knuckles and carry the weight of the car while letting the wheels steer and move.

Signs it's worn: clunking over bumps, loose or wandering steering, and uneven tyre wear.

Steering racks (manual & power)

The steering rack turns your steering-wheel input into wheel movement. We work on both manual and power steering racks.

Signs it's worn: a knock when turning, play in the wheel, stiff or uneven steering, or power-steering fluid leaking.

Tie-rod ends

Tie-rod ends link the steering rack to the wheels. Worn ones let the wheels move independently of your steering.

Signs it's worn: vague steering, a knocking sound over bumps, and uneven tyre wear on the edges.

Wheel bearings

Wheel bearings let your wheels spin smoothly under load. We supply and fit bearings for front and rear hubs.

Signs it's worn: a droning or humming that changes with speed or when you turn; in bad cases, a rumble or play in the wheel.

Control arms

Control arms locate the wheels and anchor the suspension to the body. They carry the ball joints and bushes that wear over time.

Signs it's worn: clunking over bumps, steering that wanders, and uneven tyre wear.

Suspension bushes

Rubber bushes cushion the joints between suspension parts and the body. Perished bushes make the ride loose and noisy.

Signs it's worn: rattles and knocks over bumps, a loose feel, and squeaking from the suspension.

Not sure which part it is? That's normal — many of these faults make similar noises. Our symptom guide walks through the common signs, but only an inspection can confirm the cause.
